Be Yourself, Together with Target

Content and/or other value provided by our partner, Target.

So, this weekend in my Facebook feed, I saw a total of seven engagements. I’m not sure what’s going on, or what makes THIS weekend so special, but it was THE weekend for engagements it seems. I was immediately transported back to my time of planning, and giggling over my engagement ring with my friends and family and how much fun I had during that time. We all know that parties are a HUGE part of weddings and wedding planning, and Target is sponsoring this post as a part of their “Be Yourself, Together,” campaign which embraces couples coming together perfectly in their individuality.

One of the best things I remember about the entire wedding planning process was being able to celebrate with friends and family during all of the parties that I was able to have. The best one of course, was my bridal shower (my favorite) where I was able to spend time with friends, family and my bridal party while we ate, and laughed about everything that they could remember about Mr. Houseful and I growing up. I was always the outgoing one, he was shy. We were both on the student body government (he was president, I was a secretary) and we both played sports – he did three – football, wrestling, track, and I played softball. We couldn’t BE any different, but yet, we fit perfectly. We complimented each other and it worked.

During my bridal shower, I got loads of things that fit my personality (from my Target Wedding Registry) and things that fit our personalities together. I do most of the cooking in our household, and my way of cooking is to be a little more dramatic than my husband. My dishes have a little more flair, while his are straightforward. I use tons of different spices, and ingredients and his use three or four. One of the favorites is called cheese junk, and consists of potatoes, cheese, and venison – the kids and I love it! In order to pull off this type of cooking, we need great cooking utensils, and we received those in our Calphalon set from one of my favorite teachers in high school!

It allows us to create the dishes that WE are comfortable with making, all while doing it in one set of great dishes.

Another great item that we received was our Weber grill. He loves tailgating, I love entertaining in general – especially during summer holidays. My grilled foods consist of vegetables on skewers and pulled pork, and dry rub ribs, while his consists of  brats, polishes, hot dogs and burgers. Once again, we’re able to meld our different personalities in one great item from Target.

You can find great gifts like this and others in the  Target Wedding Catalog and quickly put them on your registry. I mean, the last thing you need to worry about when you are celebrating your upcoming nuptials is trying to figure out what store to use to get all of those must haves for the home you’ll be sharing with your new husband or wife.

Now guess what? I can get you started with a gift card to Target and all you have to do is go to the Target Wedding Catalog and pick out which item would make your bridal shower special! What will allow you to be yourself, together with Target? Go ahead, do it!

I am dying to get my hands on a SodaStream. I've been invited to a House Party for this, so I'll get the chance to test it out.

I registered at Target. And was so happy because many of my gifts came from there. They're exchange process was so easy but I actually got many of the items AND I used some of the gift cards to buy some things off of my registry. The one thing I didn't get however that I **still** want is KitchenAid Contour Silver 7 Cup Food Processor. That would make my kitchen complete!
