Mother’s Day Gifts from Uncommon Goods

Mother’s Day Gifts from Uncommon Goods

A couple of years ago, I showed you a piece of art that I received from Uncommon Goods for my bedroom. I still love that piece of art, and of course, I’m drooling over the aspect of receiving several of their items for Mother’s Day, especially since I’m getting more into my homesteading these days. I’m conducting chicken math, and making my own butter. I’m even thinking about getting ducks and bees! All of those great additions to the We Sow We Grow program would be best used in some of the items that the Mr. and the kids could get for me. Mother’s Day gifts are often hard to buy for me, so I figured I’d give someone a bit of help.

We don’t have a cow (yet) but I do love making fresh butter. Especially fresh, flavored butter, and sometimes, making it in the mixer and then transferring it to the mason jar is a bit annoying to my still microwave mentality. Yes, I said it. Sometimes, I’m impatient. It’s okay, we’ll be okay. This is a nice set-up for not messing up more dishes than you need, and it’s just pretty. Making butter is one of the easiest things you can do, and one of the most gratifying “homesteady” projects ever.

Mixing Bowls from Uncommon Goods

Of course, you’ll need great mixing bowls to use that freshly churned butter in, and these are beautiful. I love that they have a handle AND a pour spout. I can just imagine all of the great cornbread and cake and cupcakes that would come from these bowls. So. Much. Goodness. And I would totally film myself using them, and pretend that I have my own cooking show. And they are so pretty. You can learn about the artist behind them too on the site!

Berry Buddy from Uncommon Goods

This Berry Buddy would get quite a workout in my home. With the amount of cherry tomatoes, blueberries, strawberries, and cherries we eat in this house, this bowl would earn its spot in our home. With a water reservoir on the bottom OUTSIDE of the bowl, it’s also smart.

Oven to Table Entertainment Platter from Uncommon Goods

As you can see, there are a multitude of things that will fill the heart of the mother that you choose to honor, no matter is she’s a homesteader, a paper lover, or a jewelry appreciator. Uncommon Goods has it all.

If you get that fancy new butter churn, I'd love to see some posts about your favorite homemade butters and what you like to pair them with. And it will also be your fault if I spend a lot of money on myself this afternoon. ... Thanks! :)
