We Celebrated Where A Kid Can Be A Kid | Chuck E. Cheese

The twizzlers turned five last week. I’m not quite sure that I’m accepting of that fact, but here we are. They are five, and I’m five years a mother of twins. I can still remember the day that they were born quite vividly, and all of the worry that I had before meeting their fat little faces. They also pleaded for a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party, and I’m not sure how, but we did it. 

Trust me though, that didn’t have ANYTHING on how they reacted to their very first birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. It’s also the first time that I planned a party at the house of Cheese, and I can honestly say that I was so overwhelmed with the amount of attention I was able to get from our party host Teaira. Wait, did I mention that we had a PRIVATE party at Chuck E. Cheese? We did. We had the entire place to ourselves for an entire two hours, and we had a blast. The adults partied just as hard as the guests of honor, and it was nice to do it in a very open environment. 

No waiting for games, not having to follow children around as closely as you normally would, and free reign for the tiniest of babies to have fun without the overstimulation of having other guests around. Don’t get me wrong, there are always reasons to go to the house of Cheese during regular hours, which we do in general on days where homeschooling has caused us to become a bit stir crazy. We go first thing in the morning, and get our wiggles out. 

Back to the party. Planning was a breeze. I went straight to the Chuck E. Cheese website and chose the options that were great for me. I was able to add a second birthday child in the planning stages too, as well as extra pizzas, cakes, and tokens. We received an extra 20 tokens for booking a VIP party on Saturday morning – VIP meaning at 8 am. You could receive 100 extra tokens for booking a party at any time on Friday or Sunday or at 10 am on Saturday morning. It’s a big deal, and an early party almost guarantees VIP treatment. Each location has it’s busy times, so I would call first for sure. Prices range from $12.99 – $22.99 per child. With the VIP package that we picked, we had to guarantee 10 children (essentially, just pay for 10) to be able to book. Good thing I know people who have children who rise early every single day of the week! I received a phone call on the Thursday before the party from our party host Teaira, where we were able to discuss details of the shindig. 

She along with the Chuckster were able to pull everything together in just the right way, and elicit looks like this from Sir Twizzler. 

I’m not sure what it is about having a birthday cake in front of you that makes kids get super pensive, but I love the way that Sir Twizzler is looking at the cake. Just waiting for the right moment to blow out all of those candles. I will say, it’s much different from their first birthday where all they wanted to do was smash the cake in between fingers. Everyone loved the venue, even if they weren’t the one celebrating a birthday. 

Remember earlier I said that they adults had just as much fun as the kids. I wasn’t kidding. Mor Mor Baby, Mr. Houseful and the head Peanut, Samantha all gathered together on the playroom floor and won tickets like it was no one’s business. I do believe they each had their favorite game, and I was doling out tokens like a mama hen should. Each guest was given a cup and then came back for any extras that they needed, and we still were able to keep some for our midweek visits. `

I thought that we were going to get into the party at 8 in the morning and be tired enough by the time Chuck E. Cheese opened that everyone would want to go home. Not so. We stayed for another hour or so, and then left for more birthday fun.
