I’m not sure when I first walked into a World Market, or why I did, but I’m pretty sure that I kicked myself for not doing it sooner. I didn’t step foot into it with serious intentions until we were close to closing on Nicholes Manor. Maybe it was because I didn’t want to add more things to the apartment that we were residing in, for fear that it would attach me to it even more. I didn’t want to have to pack up pretty things to unpack either. It may sound weird to some, but it makes perfect sense to me.
At any rate, being on Pinterest had me being sent direct messages by the likes of my friend Kari from A Grace Full Life . She has been taunting me sending me things for the kitchen since I was talking about my love of measuring cups on my Facebook page. It’s a bit of an obsession for me. Measuring cups. And it all started with her sending me a photo of those mason jar measuring cups and the search began. That search led me straight to World Market at one of my favorite areas to shop in, within the city. This place has World Market, Whole Foods, Panera, Starbucks, Michael’s DSW and PetSmart – which I have to visit often now since Dennis has come into our lives.
The set above seems to be pretty popular among the online world, yet I’m not swayed. They also had mushrooms, hedgehogs, and owls – but given my affinity for canning, and putting homemade gifts into mason jars, I figured this set reflected my personality better.
I’m still missing the cookie jar, but since cookies don’t stay around these parts for long, it will need to become a holder for things other than cookies. I do have the utensil jar, measuring spoons, and a spoon holder for the top of the stove.
They are a beautiful blue and ivory, and ceramic and just perfect for my little space in our home. They are the basis in which I decided my color scheme – well, these and some dutch ovens that I’ll showcase in another post down the line. I’m really going to enjoy sharing the decorating and DIY projects along the way, but until then, the mason jars and other pieces from World Market will give you the eye candy that you deserve this week.
Have you shopped at World Market before? I have other goodies to show you next week, so stay tuned!

World Market is one of those places I have always wanted to visit. I’ve been to their site, but they sell the type of things I’d much rather buy in person. Well, I’d always rather buy in person, so that’s not a fair argument. Like you, I’m really waiting to have a permanent home to put their pretty things. Also, I really like their owl measuring cups. I think I could find a home for them.
