My granny calls me Little House on the Prairie. Whenever I go and pick her up to hang out at my house, she is amazed at how many things I make from scratch. You see, she grew up having to make almost EVERYTHING from scratch. All of her food, her clothes, her home. She didn’t really enjoy it, so she giggles at the fact that I do love doing things in a homestead manner. She loves that we have a community garden, but she loves it even more that I am the one tending it. She gets excited to see what I’m growing, and what new things I’m trying in my kitchen, or backyard, or basement.
Between the sewing, bread making, home building, community gardening, I still want to add another craft to my arsenal. I want to learn how to make soap. You’ll know that I LOVE buying homemade soaps from friends of mine, but sometimes I want to be able to give the soap as a gift, and just say that I did it. That’s all. Enter the Natural Soapmaking Book for Beginners by my fellow Homestead Blog Hop hostess, Kelly Cable. She’s showcasing her new book that releases August 8, on Amazon, but you can pre-order it TODAY!
That’s not all though! You can enter to win 6 months worth of natural soap, and pick up the book at a discounted price! All you need to do is enter through rafflecopter, and you’re all set.
Tell me though, are there any homestead-y projects outside of soapmaking {duh} that you can’t wait to dive into? If there aren’t, when you DO start making your own soap, what scents are you looking to try? Join me in a couple of days as I try my hand with making Goat Milk and Honey soap . It’s a recipe from the book, and I really want to dive right in!
Until then, enter to win, and pre-order today! See you at the Homestead Blog Hop on Wednesday!

Scents I like in my soap are anything citrusy to wake-me up. I will pass on anything vanilla scented though!
