Are you anything like my husband? Wanting to get everything done in one fell swoop while out running errands? He’s okay if I have a pre-planned day of errand running, and would MUCH rather have everything that we need to do in one place. Which is why he didn’t moan and groan when I told him that since we needed to go and get the oil changed, we could also do the grocery shopping, and prescription pickup as well as take the kids out for something to eat. Something that he would have rolled his eyes at, if he didn’t know that we were heading to Walmart in general. I mean, Chicago has had the 5th heaviest snowfall EVER this month, and he STILL willingly went out and about with me. Our car is like the seventh member of our family – it came before Dennis the dog, so yes, its place is 7th. It’s important to us that we keep it running smoothly, and with the ability to #DropShopandOil at Walmart, we can.
Our car is a workhorse. Figuratively and well, I guess literally (not that it’s a horse, but that it works hard.) We’ve driven it to so many states, it’s hard to keep up. We’ve been almost everywhere that qualifies as midwest – not Minnesota though, and to the East Coast and down south. Basically, what I’m trying to say is that we have quite a few miles on our baby, and she isn’t even three years old yet. Which is why oil changes, on a proper schedule are pertinent. Trust me when I say, you don’t want your engine to lock up on you unnecessarily, and being able to get oil changes while doing everyday errand running makes it even easier. The Pennzoil Platinum brand (synthetic motor oil) – has the best cleanliness and protection in the Pennzoil line-up. With PurePlus™ Technology, the Platinum® motor oil is proven to keep pistons up to 40% cleaner than the toughest industry standard. PurePlus™ Technology is a revolutionary process that converts natural gas into a 99.5% pure base oil. Mr. Houseful loves Pennzoil because it cleans out the sludge that can build up on your engine from lesser automotive oils, provides protection from friction on the engine AND allows us to drive up to 550 extra miles per year versus a dirty engine. You can also see from the photo, that she needs a bath badly. So there’s another thing that I’m responsible for reminding to bathe.
Walmart is the one stop shop when it comes to busy families and reluctant shopping husbands. Not only was our oil change the cheapest that it’s been since we’ve purchased the car (we use synthetic motor oil PLUS an extra quart, which we got $5 off of) we were actually able to save time by completing all of our errands for the week without ever having to drive store to store. We were able to get grocery shopping done, eat at the Subway that was within the store, AND plan our Valentine’s Day homeschool party out. The kids were able to check out new bikes for when the big thaw comes, and we were able to get all of our household monthly shopping done. While we COULD have done all of our grocery shopping, that’s an errand that I actually enjoy doing by myself, so I saved it. Being able to attack a laundry list of errands WHILE getting the car serviced will always be a point of appreciation that both Mr. Houseful and I have. We were able to handle things from both of our “to-do” lists, AND save money in the meantime. What would getting your oil changed at Walmart save for you?

I love heading over to Walmart for oil changes, too! There is nothing worse than sitting in a waiting room watching boring daytime tv…I’d much rather hit the aisles and knock out my weekly shopping errands at the same time! #client
