So, I’m a big fan of Justin Timberlake’s. Lately, it’s been more for his comedic timing than his singing because it’s been SO LONG since he put something out. That’s why I was pretty excited around the release of his new CD, 20/20 Experience on March 19! Let’s face it, he’s a triple threat, singer, actor, and cutie. That totally counts. He also shares a wedding anniversary date with me, so at this point in time he can do no wrong. None.
I went to Wal-Mart today to pick up the actual CD (no downloads for me this time, because I want to be able to take it with me in the car!) and I was a little bummed to see that there were only 10 tracks on the back. However, upon immediately opening the CD and popping it into my player, I didn’t mind as much. Every single song is surrounded by a great beat and great lyrics (even if there are a couple of swear words in them – yes, I’m a bit of a prude, and still blush easily at swear words.) and had me doing the driver seat dancing that you only see on the highway. Yep, I don’t mind dancing in my car. Never have, never will.
While I do love the track Suit & Tie, I happen to be drawn to Don’t Hold The Wall, because I’m literally that person that does not need any persuasion to get out on the dance floor. I love moving, and a great song is all that I need to get out on the floor. I also think that the “old time” sound that he has going on with most of this CD makes it a great way to come off of hiatus. Lately, music has been so blah, that it’s nice to know what artists are saying. I love his homage to the music of yesteryear, and the tiny details that he uses. Horns, the CD that looks like vinyl, and his use of tuxedoes in his photos in the CD booklet. I love the look of the CD.
This CD is definitely grown up Justin. We know he’s married, he’s grown into adulthood (and quite handsomely I must add.) While I know that I’d be the mom who wouldn’t let her child listen to this at the moment (remember, I’m sort of a prude) this is a PERFECT CD for Mr. Houseful and I to listen to while on a date night, or nights. Ahem.
I remember when Justin Timberlake was with N’Sync and when he wore a blue jean matching outfit with a former girlfriend. I loved him then, and I love him now. The adult Justin is fantastic, and this CD has not had me skip one single song so far. I pretty sure I could get used to this type of music. Easily. I do have to say that I am pretty impressed with the sound effects he has sprinkled throughout his tracks. Especially in the song Spaceship Coupe. Just take a listen to it.
You can pick the CD up for a great price at your local Walmart, or just click and order HERE without ever having to leave the house! I also have pics of my entire Walmart trip in my Google Plus Album – there may or may not be Pumpkin Spice Flavored Pringles pictured there.
