I Love It When We’re Cruising Together – Part III

DAY TWO – FREEPORT, BAHAMAS

After sailing all night – and keeping ourselves occupied by watching various movies, including, but not limited to: X-Men:First Class, The Green Lantern, Thor, Gulliver’s Travels, The Social Network and others – yeah – there was a marathon of movies on all night long – we arrived in Freeport, Bahamas.

Now, I apologize in advance for the next few pictures. My husband seems to have sort of a mild crush on me. *Ahem*

Conch Fritters!

I have a rather sexy husband, if I do say so myself.

Since we opted not to do any excursions on this island, we didn’t have much to do. I saw a lot of things that I could have purchased, but didn’t really need to. And the pact that we made before going on this cruise, was not to come back with a lot of junk. So, nothing was purchased here in Freeport. Well, nothing except the conch fritters and a good ol’ Pepsi!

We went back through the boarding process and went to our stateroom to change clothes and do some more exploring of the ship and eat lunch.

After doing our required walking around – which by the way allowed us to find the kids section of the ship, which was WAYYYYYYYYY in the back LOL! – we went ahead and got ready for dinner. We decided to dress up a little bit, not formal, but dressy, and I got to wear the orange skirt that I made for myself that evening. I also paired it with an orange flower and brown ring that I won from a giveaway that Answering The Call of Beauty sponsored. I got TONS of compliments on the entire outfit, and I have to admit that I felt pretty cute. But, before we went to dinner – I did stop by the ships’ spa to get a nail polish change that cost a whopping…..wait for it…..wait….wait….wait….$19. Yes. That’s nineteen one dollar bills. And it was shoddy at best. Oh well, I know never to do that again. While I was getting my nail polished changed, the Mr. decided to go and attend a comedy show while he waited. We agreed to meet back up for dinner, and this is what we looked like:

Dinner was FANTASTIC! It was nice to have an upscale meal without having to worry about a cover charge.

Well, that’s the end of the second day. Stay tuned for the third day tomorrow!

I love your photos!! How wonderful to have a chance to get away from it all on a cruise!! I have yet to go on a cruise--it's on my list of 'things to do before I turn 40'! -Thanks for sharing!

You guys really look like you are enjoying one another. When we went on our cruise last year, I found Freeport to be kinda boring too.

K. Rock - we so did. I know that if we were to do this cruise again - we'd stay on the ship. It was that boring. Kind of like a flea market - but that's also because we didn't do any excursions.

That's my FAVORITE picture of us from the trip! We were like newlyweds all over again! The realization that we had all of this time for just each other was amazing! And we even got to spend a couple of hours apart and didn't feel bad. Thanks for stopping by.

Between, you Aisha and ini I am seriously cruising for a...well... Cruise! Glad you all had fun, and I totally get the sleeping! It's a rare occurrence so you took full advantage in indulging yourselves. And what is a conch fritter? Fried fish?

Conch is a type of sea snail basically. And it is SO good! The place that we ate at the second time had better conch.
