Many thanks to Marvel and Disney for hosting me for the Ant Man and Wasp Event
After a whirlwind couple of weeks, I’m topping off June with a visit to LA for the Ant-Man and Wasp Event which includes screening the Marvel movie Ant-Man and Wasp along with Disney’s new show Fancy Nancy and Freeform’s new series Cloak & Dagger. I often find that the first thing that I’m asked is, “What do you all DO for three days?” even though coming back and sharing all of the great interviews with you, gives GREAT insight as to what goes on. However, here’s what we get to do, and who we’re interviewing this weekend.
Ant-Man and The Wasp – #AntManAndTheWaspEvent
Upon arrival I head to our hotel, which has become a second home of sorts. It’s really nice when hotel staff remembers you by name and welcomes you with open arms, right? Right. Anyway, we’ll be screening the movie, and spoiling it all over Twitter and Facebook – sharing our spoiler free posts. After seeing the movie, we’ll have a chance to interview and hang out with several of the cast members to get their takes on everything.
I’m excited about our lineup for interviews. I know that I should be all about Paul, Evangeline and Michael, but I’m REALLY excited to see Mr. Laurence Fishburne who I’ve been a fan of for a LONG time. I mean, the man has played pretty epic roles in the sci-fi comic realm, and being in his presence will cross one more item off of my bucket list.
Fancy Nancy – #FancyNancyEvent
We’ll also be screening the premiere episode of Fancy Nancy, which the girls haven’t really experienced the way I did when I was chairperson of the Scholastic Book Fair. I’ve read my fair share of Fancy Nancy books to young bibliophiles and I’m hoping that somewhere deep down inside, they are sharing their love of it with younger cousins, siblings and friends. Following the screening, we’ll have a Tea Party and interview session with Executive Producer/Director Jamie Mitchell and Story Editor Krista Tucker

Based on the New York Times bestselling books by Jane O’Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser, the series is an animated family comedy centered around six-year-old Nancy, a girl who likes to be fancy in everything from her advanced vocabulary to her creative, elaborate attire. I think that I have my very on Fancy Nancy type at home, and I’m anxious to see what she thinks of the new show on FreeForm.
Fancy Nancy premieres on Disney Junior, DisneyNOW and Video On Demand July 13, 2018.
Cloak and Dagger – #CloakAndDaggerEvent
Finally, we’ll be screening the 5th episode of Cloak & Dagger which has become a mega hit for Freeform. Have you been watching? If so, get your questions ready for us as we’ll be interviewing Andrea Roth (“Melissa Bowen”), Miles Mussenden (“Michael Johnson”) and Executive Producer Joe Pokaski .
Cloak and Dagger plays on Freerform Thursdays at 8pm
