Easter Dressing

Celebrations, Children, Sewing

What happens when you make adorable outfits for your two girls, and matching bow ties for your son’s and then try to get them all to take a picture together?

If your answer was complete chaos, then you my dear are a genius.

While skimming the internet early this month, I found a pattern on One Little Minute that I decided to purchase for the Easter dresses of the ladybug and lil miss twizzler. I spent this weekend sewing them up (like any great mom – I waited until the last-minute when I also had orders to get out) and I think that they came out beautifully! The pattern was super simple to work with, and I love how professional the dresses ended up looking. The armholes are perfect, and the length and finish with the lining and main fabric was fabulous.

I used Michael Miller Citron Gray Cote d’Azure for the ladybugs’ dress:

and Michael Miller’s Citron Gray Straw Daisy for Lil Miss Twizzler

I also made matching bow ties for the boys, and well, I attempted to get photos. Here’s visual evidence of my feeble attempts.

DSC_2116 Sir Twizzler has been giving us comedic gold with the photographs lately. Honestly, I’m loving catching the craziness since they keep me in a fit of giggles. DSC_2123 So. I have no explanation for this photo. DSC_2109 This one screams he so tired of the paparazzi. DSC_2101And escaping. As usual. I mean, seriously. He’s either running, jumping, flipping, tumbling, rolling, or bumping. He does not stop.

Here are some better photos:

DSC_2118 This shot took like fifteen attempts. After a while I stopped caring about background and just took what I could get. DSC_2115

Houseful Of Nicholes, Easter, Grey, Yellow, Black, WhiteThere was a hairbow for Lil Miss Twizzler somewhere. As with anything, I’m taught daily that I should just roll with the punches, and also photograph early.

I hope that you and your families enjoyed the Easter festivties if you celebrate and that you truly remembered the reason for the season.

Thanks! I definitely need to go ahead and whip up more of those dresses for them. They are super cute – and I’m sure if I did them in a solid color, they would rock them!

[…] Then you attempt to get a photo of all three together in your very horribly lit kitchen, with way too many things in the background. I can’t believe that the ONLY person who is smiling for the camera is normally the one that is a blur. By the way, that dress that the ladybug is wearing is the dress that I sewed last year for Easter. […]
