eShakti is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to order customized clothing, and it’s no secret why. At 5’2″ and with a wide back and large-ish breasts, it’s kind of hard for me to find things that fit me properly EVERYWHERE. Either the shirt is too big because I have to fit for my back and breasts, or things are too long, and then the hems get dirty right away. It’s the cross us short, busty, wide-backed folks have to bear.

But then my good friends who may have ample hips but super small waists or super long legs or torsos can also benefit from eShakti. Plus-sized divas too! There is love for everyone and it’s ALL due to the customizationoptions that they offer.
What You Need
You’ll need a couple of things before you prepare to do a custom order on eShakti. You’ll need, measuring tape. And make sure it’s new. Measuring tape can stretch over time, so you’ll want one that hasn’t for obvious reasons. Incorrect measurements can make for an ill-fitting garment, and the whole purpose of customization is making sure you look fabulous in your piece.
You’ll also need a willing participant who can measure you in your undergarments and read the measurements properly. Doing this with Mr. Houseful can either result in a comedy of errors, or an attempt to get fresh. However, he knows how to measure properly, and not having to do it myself allows for proper measurements. If you don’t have anyone, I’m sure for a nominal fee, a seamstress or tailor would be happy to do it for you.
How to order
Once you’ve picked the garment that you LOVE – you will be able to input each measurement that you’ve been required to take into a field and it will save for you. Make sure that if there is time between you ordering, you measure again so you can be properly fit to the garment you’ve ordered.
After inputting your measurements you will be asked questions about the neckline, sleeve length and style and length of the garment. You can keep it as is or change it to fit your personality and style.
I don’t know why you would EVER do this, but you can also check to remove pockets from a garment. It makes me shudder to even think about it, but eShakti wants to make sure you’re happy, and apparently, there are people out there who don’t like pockets. THE HORROR! However, for pocket lovers here are a few items you may love.

Ship times usually fall in the 2 week window, and if you aren’t 100% in love with your dress – or the fit is off, then you can fill out a return form, and send it back for full credit. No refunds are given, but I feel that this policy is more than fair. Sewing custom clothing isn’t hard per se, but it is work, and it should be paid for properly.
