My Cousin Got Married and She Served Black Girl Magic

Celebrations

Mary Taylor’s granddaughters are magic. And this isn’t all of them. We’re missing four more and I’m not sure your internet could handle it.

My younger cousin got married this weekend, and well, she was glowing. I love weddings because it always serves as a reminder that love is present and so dang beautiful!

It’s weird to me to see my ‘baby’ cousin as a grown-up. I mean, just last year she was born, and I was mesmerized at the fact that my aunt was now a mommy. Once she started walking she would make her way up to our apartment to hang out with us. We’ve seen her graduate from 8th grade, high school, and college. Now she’s adding another hat to her head – as wife, and she entered into that realm in pure glory.

Just look at her.

She was absolutely radiant.

Smiling.

In love.

It was a sight to behold.

Cousins at a wedding

I’m also partial because she is an October bride, and I feel like October brides are the best brides in general.

Let’s talk about this Black Girl Magic though.

We all know that celebration of our skin tones has been HEAVY lately, and for good reason. Because we aren’t celebrated enough. The different tones of melanin just let me know that we are a force to be reckoned with. All different shades, and hues, and gorgeousness. It was an honor to be able to be in the photo. I’m just saying.

One thing that I can appreciate about our family is that we ALL know we’re cute. Every. Single. One. Of. Us. I mean, check out HER mother and MY mother (Mor Mor Baby)

However, on THIS HERE DAY?! My cousin was crowned the cutest of them all, and we were just her backup.

Many congrats to her and her brand new husband. I hope that they enjoy all of this love that is floating around, and hold fast to it as they add to the years that they are together.

Apparently, this Sunday was the day of weddings too. There were celebrations all up and through my Facebook newsfeed. Congrats to all of the new couples! From our Houseful to yours!
