A little over two weeks ago, I was delivered a sweet Kia Soul Turbo that you may recognize from my adventures in Indiana Dunes last year. It’s one of the cars that Mr. Houseful has stated I drive as if it’s mine. It’s a car that I have fallen in love with because it’s fun-sized (like me) and reliable, like all of the Kia automobiles that I have driven to date, and eye-catching – once again, like me. It’s one of my favorite cars to drive, and almost everywhere I go, someone stops me and asks questions about it. I’ve never had that happen with any other make or model of car, and it’s pretty awesome. It’s also awesome, that I’m a part of the Kia Family and able to produce content that makes me happy. Like this series: Conversations from the Soul – deep, and not so deep conversations from inside the Kia Soul. Thanks so much to Kia Motors for the loan of the Kia Soul to make this happen.
I don’t know about you, but the best conversations that I’ve had with people have taken place within the confines of a car. Whether it’s on the phone, or those late night talks with Mr. Houseful parked outside of our house, stealing quiet moments with each other before we walk through the door of our home, and into the roles of mom and dad. We love our roles, but there are times we love our quiet too.
We’re doing something a bit different and starting the series with our oldest son, Nathaniel. He no longer has those locs, but I love this picture so this is what you get. You’ll know from my frequent postings about how sad I am about him leaving for college in a few months, that this transition isn’t coming easy for me. We’ve had our moments, but I’m glad that he’s agreed to sit in the hot seat, and allow his family members to talk to him about serious things, or even menial ones. He’s laughing and answering as a 17-year-old might, so I’m treasuring these moments when he starts acting like a 17-year-old might. I can’t wait to show you all the videos of him and each of his siblings.
Today’s video features Mr. Houseful asking Nathaniel a series of questions and getting answers that I didn’t quite expect. I loved this, and I loved that I was not in the car to hear anything, and was able to watch as a reader for the first time. Enjoy.

Happy weekend, and dig deep in your soul to have that talk with someone you’ve been eyeing.

I love this! Nothing like honest conversation, for without there is no meaningful relationship. Truly incredible!

I love that you’re doing this series and documenting these heart-to-heart conversations with your family. So many amazing conversations happen in our car, as well.

Some of my deepest and most memorable conversations have happened within a car, especially with my children. Love following along for your family’s heart to hearts.
