Avengers Inspired Party

There are few movies that can get me to the movie theater on opening night. MOST of them have to do with comic book characters. I may not know every single story arc of the characters, but I sure do know them. And love them, and I am over the moon excited to be going to opening night to see Avengers: Age of Ultron with Mr. Houseful. Yes, we’re going without the children, and we have no guilt about it. So, of course, in true party for everything fashion, I decided to throw a watch party so we could have all of the storylines fresh in our minds before going next week. I then called #AvengersUnite and had all of my friends and their children over for an afternoon of fun. Mr. Houseful is my very own Captain America

For us, this release is bittersweet because we normally see a midnight showing, and then go again within a week to catch all of the things we missed because of excitement. This time will be different though, because I will be in Malawi on the “official” opening night and won’t be able to hang with him. *sad panda*

I’m so glad that he was on board with us throwing an impromptu party for several of our friends and their children during the week. Did I mention that I’m leaving for Malawi, Africa next Friday? He gave up precious time so that I could host something to feed our comic book passion. I also need you to take note of Lil’ Miss’ superhero stance in the photo below. BABY, she BROUGHT IT!

Avengers Party

Our tiniest guest came ready to party as well! She had a blast, and REALLY enjoyed the Patriotic Berries that we had.

I was able to pick up all of my supplies at Walmart, including all of the toys and food that you see. It was easy to do so because of all of the great Avengers setups around the store. On top of great toys for the kids to play with (check out the Captain America and IronMan spin toys) and the HUGE fists of IronMan and the Hulk, there were nice Avengers branded snacks including Dr. Pepper – which was right up Mr. Houseful’s alley, Doritos, Kellogg’s Fruit Snacks, and Cheez-It crackers which were all sold out at my local Walmart, so no photos!

Avengers Super Hero Party

The set up was pretty easy. I was able to use my die cutting machine to cut out all these cool cupcake toppers and the Avengers logo that we taped to our garage. Sidebar – I HAVE A YARD TO HAVE PARTIES IN Y’ALL! The kids had a blast running around the yard with our Avengers inspired beach balls – that Dennis promptly popped – with their friends. They then settled down to have pizza and snacks with all of those friends.

The set up of the party was pretty simple. I took the colors of the Avengers and worked from there. I would have and could have gone for broke with this, but since we were hosting mostly little people, I realized that they would focus on the symbols and colors more than anything else. I am absolutely in love with all of the comic aspects of this party.

Is it sad that I was most excited about the “Gamma Rays” from the sour apple string candies and the gamma juice? I love Hulk, and I really love Mark Ruffalo as him. He’s such a great persona of him.  If you aren’t sure who I’m talking about, you should TOTALLY go and watch ALL of the movies in the Avengers franchise. While some of them aren’t an Avengers movie, they do give the background of some of the team’s most popular heroes. They are – Iron Man 1, 2, & 3; Captain America 1 & 2, Thor 1 & 2, The Incredible Hulk, and The Avengers. Trust me when I tell you, you should watch them ALL before heading to the movie theater. I’m still kind of torn on which Avenger I like the most, but I think that IronMan, Black Widow, and Hawkeye are currently at the top of my list, for now.

I’ve gushed enough about my favorites, which Avenger is your favorite?
