When Old Things Are New Again

Lately, I’ve realized that the cartoons of yesterday are becoming fast favorites of the children in the Houseful.

Surprisingly by the ladybug.

I can list all of the cartoons that I loved to sit and watch, right along with the company of my sister and two brothers, on Saturday mornings.

Now, I love that she can watch them too. Including, but not limited to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I know, so random, and SO interesting for someone that I call the ladybug. However, she loves the turtles as did we, and it puts a smile on my face.

However, I have a confession. I’ve found a way to kind of give in to my TMNT nostalgia. I’ve linked to more information here just in case you want to travel down memory lane. The graphics are a bit updated, but it is still nice knowing that Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo and Raphael are still being heroes in the half shell.

TURTLE POWER!

What’s your favorite cartoon of yesteryear?

I was just talking about this with my husband the other day. That the cartoons we use to watch as children were the best. On Saturday mornings you could find cartoons on almost every channel. Now there aren't to many good ones that I would even let my children to watch. Some of my favs were Gargoyles, Smurfs, Bravestar, Thundercats, Lancelot Link the Secret Chimp and Jem...she was truly outrageous!! This post had me back on memory lane. lol

I love retro cartoons and retro toys! They were in full effect this week at Toy Fair too. Nia, my 2 1/2 year old, is really into Care Bears but they don't look the same as the ones of my childhood. Retrojunk is a great website for catching up on old shows - at least themesongs and clips.
