Leave it to social media to always provide opportunities for education. Last year around this time, I saw information about the The Teal Pumpkin Project™ floating around, and learned that this initiative provided a visual sign that the house displaying a teal pumpkin was safe for those trick or treaters with food allergies or children where candy is not a viable option. These houses provided non-food items for trick or treaters and made sure to make them feel part of this great holiday celebration.
PEEPS & COMPANY® is looking to help us out with great items to give to those little superheroes and fairytale characters something to look forward to with their line of treats! They include items from Mike & Ike as well as Peeps & Company fame, and as soon as I opened the box of complimentary products that I received, everyone from our houseful grabbed what made them happy. The earbuds went to Nathaniel and Mr. Houseful, the plush dolls, bracelets and backpack went to the littles. The keychains and magnets came my way. Everyone was and is happy, and I’m pretty excited knowing that I do have options for children who may come to my door that isn’t candy.
I’m sure that teens who may have allergies or aversion to candy will love the Mike & Ike earbuds that will provide stylish listening gear for when they want to plug into their phones or mp3 players. Little ones will love playing with the plush cat, ghosts, and kittens that Peeps & Company have for sale. You can find them on their website for purchase just in time for Halloween! Prices range from $1.50 to $6.99 and will appeal to trick or treaters of all ages.
If you do choose to order, you can show off your #Peepsonality on social media using the same hashtag. My readers can also get 30% off of their Peeps online order using the code HALLOWPEEPS15 – no minimum purchase required.
Now, for the all important giveaway – let me know your favorite Halloween memory, and you can win an entire gift pack including all of these great items!

My best memory is with my son who has autism. When taking him trick or treat he would only let us walk up and down the street and he would not go up to the houses. We spent our Halloween walking up and down the street. Just a few years ago we got him to go up to the house and say trick or treat. Now he loves trick or treat and we have fun taking him every year.
