Nutty Honey Roasted Breakfast Crisps

I’m going to confess something right this minute. I’m not good about eating breakfast. Now, I will eat breakfast food at all times of the day, but not really first thing in the morning. I’m looking to change that, especially with the three little ones that I homeschool daily. Oh, who am I kidding, I’m looking at the Junior in high school and that man that I married too. I came up with Nutty Honey Roasted Breakfast Crisps because I wanted something portable that everyone would enjoy.

I decided to try and concoct something that’s easy to grab, doesn’t need a bowl or spoon, or any liquid, and can be done on the fly. It also has to include a cereal that my children love to eat, and that I don’t mind buying them. Thus, we’re presenting our Nutty Honey Roasted Breakfast Crisps made with Post Honey Bunches of Oats Honey Roasted cereal and a couple of items that everyone should have in their pantry. If you or anyone in your family has a nut allergy, you can always switch it out with a peanut butter alternative that you use in your house, and nix the pecans. Of course I found all of my Post cereal in the cereal aisle of my local Walmart.

[ctt template=”10″ link=”8C49c” via=”yes” nofollow=”yes”]These Nutty Honey Roasted Breakfast Crisps are setting your day off right! #SpoonfulsOfGoodness #CerealAnytime [ad] @NatashaNicholes [/ctt]

These crisps are surprisingly easy to make, and don’t take much time from prep to enjoying!  Given that Honey Bunches of Oats Honey has four different types of grains in its 10 grams per serving: rice, wheat, oats, and corn. It’s also incredibly hear healthy with 0 grams of trans fat, saturated fat, and 0 milligrams of cholesterol per serving, these will also keep you feeling full until it’s time for your next meal!

First start by gathering your baking items and setting your oven to 350 degrees. Next measure out your ingredients, and prepare to brown your butter. The browned butter is going to take these OVER THE TOP and bring out the nutty flavor like no other! You’ll need 4 cups of Honey Bunches of Oats. 1/2 cup of peanut butter, 1/2 cup of honey, 1/4 cup of pecans, and 1/4 cup of dried cranberries. The browned butter is for flavor, and you’ll only need a tablespoon. You can freeze the rest to add to other foods later! Score

Mix all items in a large mixing bowl, until fully combined. Then spread evenly in a baking 9×13 parchment lined baking pan. Trust me with needing the parchment paper. Don’t ask questions. If you choose to disregard this important tip, I don’t want to hear ANY complaining when you’re scraping these bars off at 10 pm. Don’t ask how I know these things.

Pop the pan into the oven for 25 minutes and immediately remove and cool for 15 minutes. After it’s cooled that long, you can slice into whatever shape you want. Squares, rectangles, circles, hearts. Store in an airtight container for no more than a week, and make as needed!

Aren’t they gorgeous?

Seriously, you want them now. I want them now. The kids want them now. Also, if Honey Bunches of Oats isn’t your jam, you can always use any of the other great Post brand cereals such as Great Grains or Post Cereals Raisin Brand as the base of the breakfast crisps.  Nutty Honey Roasted Breakfast Crisps

I love all of these cereals but my favorite is honey bunches of oats. These look absolutely delicious and I know they’re probably healthier than any of the snacks I have made for myself.

I bought these on a whim, as I was looking for an easy morning snack without milk or lactose in them. Reading the reviews, I thought they’d be ok, but they are delicious!
