Kid Friendly Edible Gardening
New year, new journeys right? This one finds Lil Miss (my youngest daughter and Sir Twizzlers twin) and I partnering up with Morton Arboretum to teach a class about our love for gardening! She’s super excited about this opportunity, and I’m equally as excited to watch her talk about our community gardening initiative. She’ll be teaching a course on kid friendly edible gardening, and I will be her assistant.
Yes. You read that right. We’re teaching a class, and we want YOU to join us. To get all of the details out of the way, I can let you know that it will be Saturday, March 24 at 9:30 am and the cost is $39 for members and $46 for non-members, and you’re in for a treat! Class will consist of plants that are easy for both children and adults, and a project to take home.
March 24, 2018: Kid-Friendly Edible Gardening with Natasha Nicholes
Start an edible garden and make it fun for the whole family. Gardening with your kids or grandkids will help forge deeper connections to each other, to our family’s health, to our food sources, and to the planet. Get tips on how to engage your kids in gardening through ownership, responsibility, and of course, having fun! Learn how and when to start your edible garden, which plants are great for beginners, and basic care tips for throughout the season. Practice a hands-on project you can do at home with your kids. Help pass on the love of gardening and raise the next generation of home gardeners!
The Morton Arboretum is located at 4100 ILLINOIS ROUTE 53, LISLE, IL 60532. Purchase of the class covers your admission, and parking is always free. After class, taking a stroll around the grounds for photo ops may be the coolest thing you do this year!
