Thanks to Disney for hosting me for this very special press event!
Last year ended a bit bumpy for me. I mean, we’re fine, and overall the year was fantastic, and overflowing with opportunities, and Disney goodness in the form of Coco for us. However, THIS year started with a bang as I was invited to walk the red carpet for the Black Panther premiere. Yes. THAT Black Panther and I’ll be in the room with the cast! I can’t believe it myself! Did you read why Black Panther is important to our Houseful?
The family and I were on vacation when I get the email delivered into my inbox, and I may have squawked out loud when I opened it. You see, Mr. Houseful and I have been anticipating the release of this movie since we were introduced to the Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War. He was cool. He was calm. He was collected. He was rich. He was level-headed and even-keeled – well of course until he met Bucky. Now, he will be in LA for the premiere of his story 1/28-1/31 Check out what we’ll be doing while there below!
We don’t know who we will be interviewing on our press day, but we know one thing – no matter who we interview, it’s going to be amazing. I mean with a cast featuring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman aka 1 degree of separation from Dr. Strange along with Hollywood royalty Angela Bassett and Forest Whitaker. We’ll be given great interviews any way you look at it.
Black Panther premieres in theaters everywhere February 16th.
Have you seen Coco yet? If not, you’re missing a treat! We took in the movie a week after Thanksgiving and we were all taken aback at the beauty of the film and the joy that it brought us. It was beautiful crafted, and even caused the youngest Nicholes to shed a couple of tears. I think that the last time I felt this way about a Disney film was when my sister was alive – and we played that film EVERY day after school until we knew it backwards and forwards. To see Sir Twizzler getting excited in the theater last year when we saw it was amazing. Usually, he’s my kid that wants to go HOME-UH!
We’re going to enjoy an authentic Mexican dinner to celebrate the release of the award winning film, and I am HERE FOR IT! Not only will we be enjoying good food, we’ll be able to chat with Anthony Gonzalez, the voice of Miguel. Did you also know that you’ll be able to pick up Coco on Blue-Ray soon?! Yes! So you can bring the love home and enjoy that AMAZING cinematography any time you want on February 13 (Digital) and February 27 (Blu-Ray).
We’ll also be able to talk about the fact that Lady and the Tramp will be hitting the Disney Signature BluRay level, and the kid part of me is all “awwwwwww!” My first memory of Lady & the Tramp was my dad bringing home the VHS tape from BLOCKBUSTER and us gathering around the television to watch it, and being all shy about seeing two dogs nuzzle on the nose. I mean, come on, it was the 80s for us and I was a little kid. Any type of nuzzling was grounds for giggles behind our hands. That spaghetti scene though? SO SWEET! The Signature Edition will release February 20th (digital) and 27th (Blu-Ray) and you’ll want to snag it for nostalgia for sure.
As if that isn’t enough, for you The Bachelor fans, you’ll be excited to know that we’ll be getting a sneak peek at #TheBachelorWinterGames. We’ll be interviewing Chris Harrison, so get all your juicy questions ready!

So excited for you and all the buzz surrounding the movie, it’s going to be incredible! We haven’t seen Coco yet because we heard it was incredibly sad and we had quite a few passings in the family these last few years and don’t want to cry in the theater.
