Five years ago, Mr. Houseful and I were getting ready to celebrate the culmination of our first year of wedded bliss. The ladybug was short of being a month old, and Mor-Mor Houseful had offered to keep her and the cellist (who was 8) for a night while the Mr. and I headed out to Fogo de Chao to enjoy ourselves. We were fresh parents of TWO children, and madly in love. The only problem was that I was nursing, and well, our night was cut short due to supply issues. It was fun while it lasted.
Why am I choosing to tell you this? Well, it has to do with the fact that our 6th year anniversary is coming up. A Fogo de Chao has opened in Rosemont, and we were invited by Chicagonista to come and hear about all of the great things offered there. The parking is free, the cellist is 13, the ladybug is 5, and we’ve added two very energetic littles to the mix, and it’s time to give this another go. My mammaries are my own, and my belly is ready and willing. Plus, I need a reason to get gussied up and enjoy a night out sans kids (mom and dad love you, no, really, we do!) and social media. Okay, I’ll steal one quick photo, but that’s all!
Here’s a sneak peek at what awaits us. Look at that eye candy. I see you! I’m talking about the grilled meat. 🙂 They come around to your table and check to see if you have your Fogo card flipped to red or green.
If it’s green, expect tons of gauchos to come through and offer succulent pieces of grilled fantasticness. It doesn’t hurt that they are soft on the eyes as well. Hey now!
We can’t wait to visit this establisment again to dive into their array of 16 grilled meats, HUGE salad bar, and delectable desserts. Speaking of which, their creme brulee. YUM! However, it may be giving their Flan and Cheesecakes a bit of competition. I couldn’t decide which ones I liked the most, so I had a little of each.
However, if you DO want to indulge in social media AND fine food, I would suggest that you ready your stomach AND your tweeting thumbs and get ready as Chicagonista hosts their monthly show from the Rosemont Fogo de Chao site. If you mention ChicagonistaLIVE special with any dine in option, you’ll get a free dessert. Trust me, you want one. Did you not see my wonderfully fuzzy camera photos?!
Do you need more encouragement? How about a Fogo de Chao gift card to get you started? Yeah, I thought so.
Leave a comment below and tell me what your ideal date is, and why it’s ideal for you, and you’ll be in the running! Good luck, and get those bellies stretched! Contest ends 10/8

Ideal date? Hmm… haven’t had a date without kids in about a year so pretty much any kind of date sounds amazing. Maybe a meal without whining/cutting up food/settling fights!

My ideal date is one where I don’t have to plan ANYTHING but it turns out to be things I like to do. I know it sounds WEIRD, but only a few men in my single and dating life knew how to pull it off perfectly. Drinks at the W overlooking the lake, seafood dinner, nice long walk and talk…. Where is that boys number! Lol

(Dreamily) My ideal date is anywhere with my hubby where there is good food, good conversation and freedom to kick my heels off under the table. I don’t mind having the girls in tow so long as I’ve got plenty of wine and they’ve got plenty of finger foods to nibble. Big chunks of meat are just the ticket! 🙂

I seriously want that meat. Like, NOW.

My ideal date would involve a very romantic dinner, one with a candle lit table, private…after that a evening walk along the lake…followed by a hotel room downtown

My ideal date is going to a place like this, The Melting Pot, or P.F. Changs because they have wonderful Gluten Free options where I don’t have to worry about cross contamination.
The most ideal part of the date would be not having to plan it (because it’s the only way we got out is if I plan it.) Cheers!
