Chicago Sights: Women Driving Excellence

Chicago

This week, I had the opportunity to attend my third Women’s Day at the Chicago Auto Show, and the Women Driving Excellence program that lasted throughout most of the day. Women Driving Excellence was created to celebrate women who start, accelerate, fuel and steer others to excellence. Not only did they honor the women pictured below during their ceremony, but women in tech were showcased, as well as a pitch session for women led businesses.

MJ Tam, Janet Davies, Kathleen Henson, Dominique Jordan Turner, Lisa Madigan, Dee Alexander, Marilynn Kelly Gardner, Beth Rosen

We also were treated to a live viewing of the ChicagonistaLIVE web series, where Jewel Osco showcased quite a bit of information with their new Monopoly game, and how much women really do drive sales in the grocery business.

Women Driving Excellence

Women Driving Excellence was sponsored in part by Nissan and Jewel. For the last several years, Mr. Houseful and I always find ourselves stopping to check out the Nissan Envy which is a 12 passenger vehicle with customizable seating. We could travel all over and NO ONE would have to be anywhere NEAR anyone else. The outer design of it continues to become a bit sleeker with each year they are featured at the Auto Show. We *may* have climed into the vehicle and taken a nap. A very long, and comforting nap because the seats are just that comfortable.

If you haven’t had a chance to see my First Look for Charity recap, you probably haven’t seen me standing over another Nissan vehicle just as bright as I felt.

Also got a photo on the side of the Nissan Quest, but it was more for a closeup of my makeup and you really can’t see inside the mini-van, which I completely love. I’ve been pushing mini-vans since high school, and have nothing against them. Especially when they come as souped up as the Quest. The console alone makes me feel like I’m in a Starfleet ship, and that makes my little nerd girl soul happy.

I do hope that the very next time the Auto Show makes its way to Chicago (always in February) you’ll remember this post and make your way down for Women’s Day and join the festivities with us next year.

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Nissan and ChicagonistaLIVE. All thoughts are my own.
