Folks, it’s that time of year again. The Chicago Auto Show 2020 is coming to a McCormick Place near…me…’cause it’s in Chicago. Today we were able to see and drive just a few of the new offerings from some of your favorite auto manufacturers. Several automakers debuted new vehicles. We saw the new Ford Mustang Mach E, the new Kia Seltos, the new Lincoln Aviator electric hybrid, the new Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, the new Alfa Romeo Giulia, and many more. There are also new offerings from Toyota and Nissan and Ford and Genesis and Jeep and… Just come and see for yourself. The Chicago Auto Show opens this Saturday, February 8, at 10 am.
2020 CHICAGO AUTO SHOW SCHEDULE
Feb. 8 – 16: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Feb. 17: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m
The beautiful thing about the Chicago Auto Show is that there is something for everyone. Are you someone who is looking for style and a vehicle that has pizzazz? Then you may be interested in the sexy, luxurious GV80 from Genesis, the standalone luxury brand from Hyundai.
With an MSRP that is still yet to be determined, it will totally fit the bill for all of the techies out there. While this vehicle isn’t a great fit for our brood, it is great for carrying four or five bodies. The third row leaves much to be desired honestly. But that one negative is outweighed by all of the positives. The 14.5-inch multimedia display, which was a bit too large for Mrs. Houseful’s fun-sized frame, is amazing because it’s taken away all of the buttons you would need to operate it. It’s completely touchscreen. I don’t see it being a problem that would keep her from driving one though.
Are you looking for the latest tech? While most auto manufacturers will tout the new tricks in their lineups, nothing is more worthy than the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
This is exciting because it’s Ford’s first electric vehicle (EV) with standard Mustang style.
Maybe you’re the type of person who wants a family hauler that is more economical on fuel. Then you may want to look at the all-new Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.
This minivan is a merge of hybrid and tech, and just pretty all around. If the Mrs didn’t have the Kia Sedona already, this would REALLY be top of her list to drive. She got into the back seat, and her ability to sit comfortably while reclined may have seared into her brain matter forever. She was really impressed with the leather interior, and the way the all black headliner created a cozy feel of the interior cabin.
Are you into test rides? Check out Toyota, Jeep, Ram, and Volkswagen this year. Want to have some fun? Swing by Kia for your hand at a little pop-a-shot or take a virtual test drive with the Stinger or Telluride.
You can even stop by the National Park display in the Subaru area. It’s truly impressive
There are so many goodies to enjoy at this year’s show. Go alone, bring the family, take a friend, or do all three. This year’s 2020 Chicago Auto Show won’t leave you disappointed.
