Chicago Sights: Brookfield Zoo

On one of the nicer summer days of Chicago, we decided to take a trip to Brookfield Zoo (the nicer of the two Chicagoland zoos in my opinion) to see if we could see a couple of the animals before having to come home and return to normality.

Right off the bat, we knew that it would be a fantastic day trip because the lion decided to wake up and give us a mighty ROAR! The ladybug really enjoyed that aspect of that and was all smiles from then on. We also saw giraffes, bears, rhinoceroses (which she called an elephant - way to GO ladybug on association!) wolves, bison and some wild African dogs.  Let me tell you, Brookfield Zoo is a LARGE zoo and it definitely takes several visits to even see half of it. We will be going again when the weather breaks a bit and our hectic summer schedule slows.

Until then, here are a few pictures to keep you over.

You do realize that I almost double checked this post to see if I, in fact, DID have a photo of you, and not your alias. I tell you - fans.

I love taking my daughter to the zoo. I hope I can take her to the Bronx Zoo before it gets cold.
