If you have never heard of this gentleman, but have viewed the movie Devil In A Blue Dress and enjoyed it, then he should be one of your favorites. Easy Rawlins worked his way into the libraries of many through a page-turning series by this author. The words seem to come off of the page like a slow swirl of smoke, and intertwine with your imagination just as they should. I’m kind of upset that I waited as long as I did before picking up a novel by him.

I guess it doesn’t really hurt when you have Denzel Washington playing your star character either. I know that we’re not supposed to let a movie tell us how a character is supposed to look. We’re supposed to apply the carefully chosen words of the creator to do that. For this, I ask forgiveness, but Easy will always have that swagger that only Washington gives in performances onscreen.

Born January 12, 1952, Mosley has been weaving great crime fiction for nearly thirty years.

While you may ONLY be familiar with Devil In a Blue Dress, you should start at the beginning of the series and work your way through. Especially since this author began writing at the age of 34 and has written every single day since then. The passion and commitment that goes into being a GREAT author is one not appreciated by too many, or so it seems.

While my stance against eReaders has softened a bit because of living and learning I recommend that you check out, download, or buy one of his books, and I am sure you’ll be hooked. Here are a couple more titles to get you started properly. While he has much more than the Easy Rawlins mysteries, they are MY favorites so I’m sharing them here with you. Enjoy!
