Amy Butler’s Sophia Carry-All

Sewing

Amy Butler's Sophia Carry-All in red and teal blue fabric.

Among all of the things that I am sewing, I decided to take a little bit of time out for myself and make ME something.

I’ve been eyeing this pattern for ever since I started sewing last year. Apparently I’m four years past the release of this pattern, but I don’t care. I’m finding that one thing that stands true for me is the fact that I like what I like how I like it. Apparently this is a trait that started when I was very young. My mom can vouch for me. Can’t you Mor-Mor?

I am completing the purse in this fabric:

Amy Butler's Sophia Carry-All in red and teal blue fabric.

The Dr. Seuss looking fabric on the bottom is for the lining and pockets, while the floral is for the outside of the bag and the handles and piping. I’ve already made three other Amy Butler bags, so I’m not too scared to make this one, however, I’m not going to be surprised if I run into a particular technique that leaves me scratching my head for a bit of time.

Stay tuned next week to see the pieces cut out and the formation of the handles and piping.

Make It A Fantastic Day!

Lol…I started working on that same bag today too!I have been wanting to make this one for a while now as well. Maybe Sofia will be all the rage in 2014 like the Weekender was in 2012. Looking forward to seeing your completed bag!

Oh gosh Jennifer, I’m STILL not done with it. The outer portion is done, but the inside is not. Now I’ll put it on my UFO list and figuer out what the heck is going on. LOL! Thanks for stopping by!
