Beauty and the Beast is the ladybug’s favorite Disney movie so far, so it’s a no-brainer that we’ll be in the theaters in a couple of weeks to see the live action version of the movie! It doesn’t hurt that my sister was a huge fan of the animated feature as well, so we’ll have come full circle. We’re looking forward to seeing the iconic yellow dress, and hearing the memorable songs that we (I) grew to love back in the day. I just said that. ‘Back in the day.’ I’m old.
I think that Emma Watson makes a beautiful Belle, and I am greatly anticipating her show of strength and savvy just the same way we saw in the cartoon. I may or may not still have the VHS tape. I also may or may not know all the words to the movie, as does the ladybug, so I’m not sure anyone wants to sit next to us during the screening that we attend.
Everyone is perfectly cast. Absolutely everyone perfectly fits the characters that we were introduced to, so long ago. I do like the anticipated twists of character traits that I hear are in the movie. From Belle’s dad not actually being the inventor, thus giving the edge to Belle. Either way, I’m looking for some good old fashioned nostalgia to whisk me back to the days of my youth, sitting in front of my television singing “Be Our Guest” at the top of my lungs. I can not promise that this will not happen in the movie theater. Don’t make me do it alone. Buy your tickets now!
