I love Macy’s. Like, a lot. There is nothing better than spending a day downtown and walking into this historic building and exploring each and every floor any afternoon. One of the places that I’ve come to really love is the lower level where all of the housewares and kitchen items are, and where most of the Culinary Council cooking demonstrations take place. Next Friday, the lower kitchen will be hosting Chef Takashi Yagihashi at noon and we’re sure in for a treat!
A little while back, I was able to see both Takashi Yagihashi and Rick Bayless in the same afternoon, and even got to work with Chef Takashi for a little bit. It was so much fun. His humor is refreshing and his cuisine is excellent as well. A friend and I were able to go to his restaurant Slurping Turtle for a girls work night out, and we enjoyed ourselves and the food immensely. I’m sold on his style of preparing food, and I can’t wait to see what holiday treats he whips up for us. Maybe I can even get another sous chef role and help him make dumplings! You know what that means, it’s time for a THROWBACK PHOTO!
Since, I’m smack dab in the middle of a house move, and always on the lookout on things for my kitchen (my most favorite room in any home) I’ll be sure to pick up $35 worth of merchandise so I can get my copy of Noodles by the chef. I’m sure that I’ll be whipping up some chewy noodle dishes in no time! Will you join me there? If you do stop by, make sure to say hi!
Impress your family and friends at your next holiday gathering with new recipes from our very own Macy’s Culinary Council Chef Takashi Yagihashi. Learn from the master chef himself as he shows you how to prepare some of his favorite award-winning holiday dishes. The best part? There’ll be plenty of scrumptious samples to enjoy.
