I am lucky to say that most of my celebrity chef crushes have been seen at Macy’s. Including the chef pictured above, Chef Rick Bayless. He is master of one of my favorite food styles, Mexican, and his soft speaking voice just hypnotizes you as you take in all of the amazing culinary masterpieces that he creates.
I’m even luckier because he lives right here in Chicago, and has some of the best restaurants to visit when Mexico: One Plate at a Time just isn’t hitting the spot. However, I’ll get to see him in person (AGAIN) on October 20th as he comes to Macy’s courtesy of the Culinary Council, to share his dishes from his new cookbook Frontera: Margaritas, Guacamoles, and Snacks which can be yours for free with the purchase of $35 in the Home Department. On top of that, you’ll even receive a $10 Macy’s giftcard.
Anytime spent with the Culinary Council is a great time, and this will be my second time being able to see Rick Bayless in his role as a Culinary Council member.
With these recipes that he’s sure to share, your holiday entertaining can be kicked up a notch, and your appetizers will be the talk of the town! We’re not a margarita family, but we sure do love guacamole and snacks – no matter what kind. I’m looking forward to learning a lot from the Chicago chef, and getting to taste the samples in the meantime.
You can join me there too. Macy’s on State Street on Monday October 20th, at 12 noon in the lower level. You won’t miss it because there is sure to be a TON of people downstairs, each waiting to see what delights we’ll see. The event is free, but you can reserve your place because seating is limited.
