My family and I received a complimentary stay at the Atlantic Breeze Ocean Resort in Myrtle Beach SC to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
There is nothing better than family road trips, and I have fond memories of heading down to Memphis, TN every summer with my parents, and siblings every summer. While those trips were GREAT, I’m having a blast traveling the United States with my family. Earlier this month, we set out for Myrtle Beach, SC to celebrate the 16th birthday of Nate the Great, and we were hosted at the Atlantic Breeze Ocean Resort right on the Grand Strand Beach in North Myrtle Beach. The resort is one of nine resorts managed by Oceana Resorts through Wyndham Vacation Rentals and we were pleased as punch with our arrangements!
Atlantic Breeze Ocean Resort
We’re no strangers to the condo way of living while we go on vacation, and I doubt we’ll ever stray away. At the Atlantic Breeze Ocean Resort, we were in a corner 2 bedroom unit with a view of the ocean from our balcony. I loved listening to the waves crash against the beach at night, but still having enough privacy from our unit because of our location. With a full living room, and a table large enough to fit our entire family. Two bathrooms, a washer and dryer in the unit, we felt like we were right at home. Except with a beach right outside our back door.
Layout
Whenever we get to a new condo, we always explore to see what extras we have. The kitchen was full of dishes for us. Beer glasses that we enjoyed root beer from, and a CROCK POT! Good thing that South Carolina knows that it gets too hot to turn on a stove or oven during June. I appreciated that addition so much. We had crab crackers, and even a blender, coffeepot and toaster oven.
The living room had enough space for all of us to congregate in for a night of movies, and if we wanted to ditch the tube, there were board games in the console for us to enjoy! Those little touches really made us feel right at home!
This particular unit had two bedrooms, and a sofa bed, so everyone was comfortable while sleeping. Mr. Houseful and I had the master bedroom with an attached bathroom that was HUGE! Each bathtub was also fitted with jets, but none of us had a chance to use them. Be aware that if you have littles, you may want to invest in a collapsible step-stool to bring along with you so they can stand up above the sink while brushing their teeth. We pulled a dining room chair into the second bathroom, but it was a bit inconvenient.
Amenities
The amenities of the resort were above average as well. An indoor AND oceanfront pool with a lazy river and kiddie pool included. You could workout while looking out on the ocean, and for extended stays, you can have mail delivered. It was amazing to be surrounded by the ocean, and to have it be as accessible to us as it was. The kids were ALWAYS ready for swimming, and stayed in suits just in case we decided to stop off at the beach or pool during our outings.
Parking was free, although the parking lot was TIGHT. We often had to pull into a parking space to allow another car to go past us in the garage. I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed that about the structure. The parking structure was open though, and it was nice to get out of the car and watch everyone on the beach.
With a private entrance to our hotel back from the beach, I felt safe and secure knowing that random people just couldn’t roam around the property. It’s nice to know that safety is taken seriously, and family friendliness on beaches is honored. I didn’t worry about the children seeing anything inappropriate either.
Overall, I would completely recommend the resort for folks with large families in a heartbeat. Close enough to the main road, and grocery stores, yet, far enough away to truly make it feel like you were on vacation. You can make reservations directly on their website, or contact them via Twitter or Facebook.

Taking notes. I’m going here in August and the rates are really good. I just went a Wyndham vacation rental presentation last week.
