Finding Excellent Early Childhood Education with Bright Horizons
A long time ago, my oldest son was a wee lad, and I was a young mother. I wanted him to be in a program that was of great quality, but where I didn't have to worry about getting there, or selling him to be able to afford the education in general. Well, now that he's a senior in high school, I know that he learned great lessons, but I sure would have been happy to have Bright Horizons in my view at the time. Given the fact that Bright Horizons 30+ years of leadership in the field of early childhood education, it would have been a great partnership. Finding excellent early childhood education shouldn't be difficult, and I'm here to take some of the mystery out of it.
It was very important to me that Nathaniel had fun at school AND learned. It's one of the things that we really try to encompass here for homeschool. I understand that everyone can't homeschool - nor do they want to, so it's always nice to know about other options. It may not seem that making friends is an important aspect of early childhood education, but it is. Being able to go out into the world and connect with people verbally is something that needs to be encouraged. I am a big believer in play-based learning at that age.
I live in a rural community, so we don't have many options for early childhood education outside of a few preschool programs at the local schools. And fortunately for me, I'm lucky enough to live close to a public elementary and parochial school with excellent programs. I think I would prefer to send my child to the local catholic school, but it would add a 30 minute commute to my mornings and evenings, so we will probably end up taking Mildred to the local elementary's preschool program when she is old enough. It's only about a mile from her house, which will come in handy as they don't have bus services for preschoolers. However, if we ever move to a larger city I would certainly look into a program like Bright Horizons.
While l know teachers nowadays are pressed for time, I think l would still be looking for individual attention when it comes to the kids. I've never heard of Bright Horizons before, but l am passing this along to my cousin as she is searching. I think they would have this close to her. Thanks for the heads up.
Quality education is so important for the little ones. It gives them the proper head start that they need (no pun intend). We have something here called New Horizons, I wonder if it's affiliated.
This sounds like a fantastic program and I agree that it's important that children develop social skills earlier on! A lot of parents are so focussed on their child being the smartest in their class that they neglect this!
I'm an advocate of Homeschooling even though I'm an Educator, well at least according to my degree that is collecting dust lol....These types of programs are helpful to parents and teachers! Some parents don't understand the importance of developing social skills I ran into it a lot when I was in the classroom teaching Kindergarten.
Having a daughter with special needs I'm am looking into various forms of education since she will be headed to Kindergarten next year! I cant wait to check out more about Bright Horizons. I think the important thing for her is to have a mixture of students that have special needs as well as typical students she can learn from!
I love programs for children that incorporate valuable education as well as creative play and rest time.
My children have never been to a traditional school, but I would put them in school if I found one that was a great fit for their personalities and skills. It can be hard trying to vet the right school for your child, but knowing what is most important to you regarding your child's education is important.
I am not a parent yet, but I think parents should look into seriously where their kids will be getting their education. Bright Horizons sound like they have an amazing cirriculum.
