It’s tax time in the nation, and people everywhere are trying to figure out ways to S-T-R-E-T-C-H their refunds so that they can feel as if they were responsible with it. No big screen televisions, or luxurious trips for them. Instead, they are investing in themselves long run, so that when they are older they can enjoy the fruits of their sacrifices. We’ve been doing well so far with our Walmart Family Mobile plans since last year, and we’re finding new ways to #MaxOurTax in other ways. Today, I’ll share some of them with you.
1. Join An Online Streaming Service
We’ve been about this for YEARS now. We only go out to movie theaters when it’s a movie that we just can’t wait to see (like the Hunger Games Trilogy, or any Marvel/DC Comics movie ever) but most of the time we can wait until they start playing on one of the online streaming platforms. I belong to two (one for free shipping) and each of them provide countless opportunities for pleasure viewing – for instance, I’m all about Grimm, and then homeschooling. We’ve viewed docu-series on big cats in Africa, and Penguins and the fact that they mate for life. On average, you will save HUNDREDS of dollars just from not going to the movies alone, and by not having cable. I know plenty of people who hit the theater up twice EVERY weekend, and on top of that, buy things from the concession stand (which gives me an anxiety attack each time I add up that mortgage payment.) and they wonder where all of their money goes.
2. Download Money Saving Apps
If you REALLY know me, you know that I’m ALL about hanging out in craft stores. I have an Etsy shop where I sometimes sell handsewn goodies that I whip up, but let me tell you, if I had to ALWAYS pay full price for my supplies, I would die. A slow death. Painful even. Being able to check out the coupons on those apps when I decide to invest in my business, is not only business savvy, it lets me get more. Big super awkward >wink< .
