Disclosure: I was compensated for my participation in the Chicago Auto Show’s Women Driving Excellence hosted by #NissanCAS #FuelCAS #ChicagonistaLIVE and the Chicago Tribune.
This week, I was honored to be able to attend the Chicago Auto Show on Women’s Day, and take part in the second year of the Women Driving Excellence program hosted by ChicagonistaLIVE, Nissan, and the Chicago Tribune. The program was created to celebrate women who start, accelerate, fuel and steer others to excellence. What a great lineup of women there were to honor too!
Each honoree was able to share with the audience what drives them to success, and imparted nuggets of wisdom to us as well. One thing that really stuck out to me were words from BlogHer co-founder Elisa Camahort Page who stated that we need to dream big and work our butts off. Failure for so many of us wouldn’t result in dire straits (maybe we’d back to living with our parents, along with our spouses and children, but worse things COULD happen) so we shouldn’t let fear immobilize us. One of the best things this writer could have heard on that day.
All participants were earlier asked to go and check out the Nissan booth on the auto show floor, and take photos of some of our ideal cars. While I dream of the carefree days of getting into a leather laden car and going, I’m prone to practicality these days and checked out both the Nissan Quest and Nissan NV. Granted, the NV is quite a large passenger vehicle for us while the Quest would be just perfect. 16 cup holders and all.
We then assembled to listen to an excerpt from Phantom of the Opera, followed by the live viewing of ChicagonistaLIVE .
Miss Lori closed out our day with a cabaret that ended with Let It Go from Disney’s Frozen. Let me tell you, I’m sure there are MANY people who want the winter to be let go.
It was definitely a whirlwind of a day, and paid homage to the demographic that actually drives car sales at a high percentage. So, if you missed out on Women’s Day and the Women Driving Excellence presentation, you still have time to get down and check out all of the great choices for family cars, or sporty coupe!
Whatever you choose, make sure it fuels what you love.

How the heck did I miss that ombre-looking Nissan van?? 16 cup holders? How cool looking!!! I agree with you that Elisa Camahort Page’s words were beyond motivating and much needed. Time to let go of fear and just work our butts off!!
