If you’re not singing that, I don’t know what’s wrong with you. You probably weren’t born when the Lion King came out, and now you will FINALLY have the the chance to be swept into the fold. Welcome.

The Lion King Live Cast

The Lion King means so much to me, as it was a movie that my sister and I bonded over when I was a brand new freshmen in high school, and she was still a 6th grader. We came home daily from school, and popped in the VHS and watched it faithfully. We sang all the songs, we quoted all the lines, we laughed at all the right times.

Now, you can experience the entire event in live action, and you can do so with Donald Glover, Beyonce, James Earl Jones (ZOMG!!!!) Alfre Woodard, Chiwetel Ejiofor and so many others. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THEY GOT JAMES EARL JONES AGAIN! My fan girl hear is EXPLODING and I’m more excited about this than one should probably be over a live action movie.

One of my regrets is not seeing The Lion King on Broadway, but Nathaniel got to, so I believe that my LITERAL circle of life has been complete. He said that the costumes were out of this world, so I KNOW that the movie version is going to be PHENOMENAL. I mean, Jon Favreau brought us The Jungle Book, and I loved every minute of that too. It was visually appealing, and stayed true to the original story.

DID I MENTION I WAS EXCITED?!
