Let’s Get Baking for the Holidays #GetYourBettyOn

Cooking, Giveaways, Sponsored

Get Your Betty On

It seems like everyone on social media is making cookies. They are taking part in cookie exchanges, or buying them to take to their company holiday parties. My last house wasn’t as baking friendly as this one is (I have quite a bit more counter space) for more than one person. Now the kids can really get with me and help make their favorite cookies alongside mom and dad. Today, I’m sharing some goodies sent to me by Betty Crocker as a part of their push to you to #GetYourBettyOn .

If you are the shopper of your family, and spend any time in the baking aisle, you should have seen those pouches of cookie mix that Betty Crocker has where all you have to do is add an egg and butter (for most.) mix, and bake. It’s genuis for those of us who may need a quick kitchen craft, but are short on time. They also have Box Tops for Education for those of you with children or schools that collect. From mixing to baking was only 20 minutes, and that’s because I already had a stick of butter softened. If you’re in a rush, you can microwave it for 15 – 20 seconds and you’ll be good to go.

Cookies

Lil Miss really enjoyed helping out all by herself this morning – she was eager to bake last night at about 11, but I just didn’t have it in me. Thanks to Mr. Houseful for helping her get those cookies cut out! Isn’t this the sweetest picture? She was super serious about it too. Wearing her apron, and making sure that she cut out all sizes to represent everyone in the family.

Gingerbread Family

I know that I will end up making more of these this week, and we’ll decorate them proper like. Lil Miss said that my “gingerbread” person needed a computer for blogging and that Mr. Houseful’s needed a bag across his chest (his messenger bag that he carries for work.) I’m pretty impressed that she is as observant as she is.

So, here’s the deal, comment with your favorite type of cookie to make and you’ll be entered to win a #GetYourBettyOn prize pack which includes everything in the picture above(minus the tablet and me), but listed below.

  • Kitchen tablet stand
  • Betty Crocker™ Mixing Spoon
  • Betty Crocker™ Oven Mitt
  • “Get Your Betty On” Apron

I just love to make chocolate chip cookies so that I can eat the dough. Though when I’m feeling especially lazy, I love a good no bake cookie.

Our family loves to make the peanut butter blossoms with the hershey kiss. It’s a family tradition because kids can start helping as soon as they’re old enough to unwrap the chocolate pieces. Thanks for the chance to win this fun giveaway!

I really like making bar cookies of all types. I make a lovely no bake chocolate peanut butter bar cookie. But, I have had some fun with gingerbread cookies in my time.

My favorite are oatmeal scotchies, but that is primarily so I can eat handfuls of butterscotch chips while we are making them.

My favorite Holiday cookies to make are Russian Tea Cakes. The recipe is a simple shortbread with nuts that you roll into balls. After baking you roll them in powdered sugar. These cookies are light and delicious. I really enjoy making them for my father at Christmas. They are his favorite.
