Help #WeSowWeGrow GROW!

Well, well, well. I'm stepping out for the We Sow, We Grow Project and opening our gardening doors for those of you who want to learn a bit more. It's a group on Facebook in which you can ask questions and possibly participate in live videos more often than not. While we're still in training over this way - it takes a LONG time to become a Master Gardener y'all - we're sharing what we learn, and loving it!

If you're in Chicago, you can even stop by the garden one of these days for a hands on approach to gardening within the community, AND in your own backyard! 

By no means do I claim to be a master gardener (yet), but I do know that I have a passion for growing food, AND learning about it in the process. My mistakes will save you from making your own. So, stay tuned each week to see what I'm learning or sharing, and make sure to join the Facebook group to ask your own questions, or show off your own goodies! We're a supportive bunch, and we love seeing what everyone is growing in different zones. Like those folks down in Florida that can grow mangoes? I'm really jealous! 

Case in point about learning as I grow. We grew watermelon last year! It was our second year trying, and it was the most delicious watermelon I have every had the pleasure of eating. If you grew one, you'd say the same. 

We also grew all types of greenery, tomatoes (22 different varieties), squash, peppers, and whatever else you can think of. You also see me in the middle of the bed of corn that we grew. All 132 ears of it. I was SO proud of this garden, and the connections that we made in the community. We made strides in a new community, and it was all from the planting of a little seed.
