How do you feel about cheese curds? If you don’t know what a cheese curd is, I need you to pull up a seat. Like, RIGHT NOW. Sit down, and let me learn you something! (yes I know that’s not a grammatically correct sentence, but this a matter of GRAVE importance, and it may just change your life.) SIT!
I was first introduced to cheese curds during new student week at Carroll College when I reported to my campus September of 1998. It was my first time ever seeing a Culvers in general and I was a happy girl! Fried cheese?! YES PLEASE! Now, while cheese curds are the focus of my talk with you today, make sure to grab a butter burger if you can. You’ll thank me later.
Culver’s Cheese Curds are snackable, bite-sized chunks of white and yellow Cheddar cheese, breaded and deep-fried for a warm, buttery crunch. They hold such a special place in Culver’s hearts, they ordained Oct. 15 National Cheese Curd Day to celebrate them in all their ooey-gooey glory! The Houseful happily backs this notion.
If you follow my Instagram account, you’ll know that this week, we’re hosting a German student now, and the first place we took him right off the plane was Culver’s! It was great to introduce him to something that our family loves too. It was quite interesting to see all of us try to explain a cheese curd! We attempted to give all sorts of explanations, but none did them justice until he actually tried one for himself.
Don’t be sad though! Culver’s is hosting National Cheese Curd Day on October 15th, and they want YOU to show how #LifesBetterWithCheddar! I happen to love dipping my cheese curds in ranch, because…hello! Midwestern girl here. Other folks I know are all about ketchup which makes me raise an eyebrow, but I’m not going to judge.
Do you have a Culver’s near you? At which Culver’s location are you going to celebrate National Cheese Curd Day? How do you do your cheese curds? Dipped? Naked? What? Let me know below and I’ll pick four lucky people to gift an order of the cheesy treats!

Cheese is such awesomeness. And now there is a whole day to lavish in it! *Heads to pizza store*
We don’t have a Culvers close, and I didn’t know what a cheese curd was, however, let me pass one while traveling I AM THERE!!!! I know my whole family would love them!
I can’t believe with how much I love cheese I have NEVER tasted a cheese curd! Now I need to try one. I wish I had a Culvers near me!
I love Culver’s Cheese curds. They rate right up there with the ones at the State Fair which are only once a year… so I head to Culvers the rest of the year.
I love cheese! Fried cheese? Omg I must try this. I’ve never even heard of Cheese Curds.
Super messing out.
I love Culver’s cheese curds! Really I’m all about cheese in any form lol 🙂
My brother would so enjoy this. He loves anything cheese!
We love cheese but, I have yet to create cheese curds. I’m so mad I missed the offer at Culver’s we have one within walking distance, I would have loved to grab a few for me and the kids.
I totally didn’t know there was such a thing as Cheese Curd Day yet I’m not surprised. My kids are cheese lovers and will eat it on almost anything in almost any form.
You know, I don’t think I’ve ever had cheese curd before. I imagine it to be similar to a macaroni ball? Whatever it is, looks delicious!

I’ve never heard of Culver’s, but the way I love cheese, I need to find the nearest one! Don’t think I’ve heard of cheer curds either, but they look amazing!
We don’t have a Culver’s in Los Angeles and I have never heard of a cheese curd. I love cheese wrapped in a coating and fried. So I’m pretty sure I would enjoy.
I have a Culvers near me, but I’ve never been, those cheese curds look pretty tasty.
I can’t lie – I had no idea what a cheese curd was. But i’ve been enlighten and I’d love to have some right now – sounds yummy
