Jumping June – Serial New Project Starter

We’re still talking about Jumping, and today’s prompt is: How do you feel about starting new projects? Well obviously they have really been focusing on the task of stepping on my toes at BlogHer.

I’m a serial new project starter, however I have found that by blogging about all of my new ventures, I am able to stay focused – for the most part – and finish something through to the last drop.

Anyway, I feel really happy about starting a new project, unless it is something dealing with me paying money to a bill collector. Until a newer one comes along, I’m pretty focused. I will say that my sewing business is a happy place for me, although I haven’t updated my Etsy shop in forever, and I am still struggling with keeping a schedule TO sew. There are lots of things that I have learned about myself with sewing too. I do NOT like sewing curtains. I just don’t. Too much fabric, too boring, and in the end I’m hot and sweaty from handling them. And the only thing I want to be hot and sweaty about is meeting Will Smith, oh, and Mr. Houseful.

There are so many times (too many to count) that Mr. Houseful has told me to stay focused on one project until the end, but I think that he has realized that it is better for all parties involved that he just let me be happy in my life of several started and “evolving” things, then trying to force encourage me to finish one first before beginning another.

Overall, I think that my lack of commitment to one project is a deeper issue, and one that I’m frankly not interested in finding out, because I feel that it will be a killjoy. And let’s face it, that’s just not any fun.

I start a lot of things, it's the finish that gets me. #focus
