I am more excited about this challenge then I really should be. See, growing up in a Pentecostal household, I wore nothing but skirts and dresses each day. Even if it was freezing outside – we just added cable tights. I even met my husband in my skirt/dress everyday wearing stage. I think that he was literally shocked when he saw me in my first pair of pants. In fact, some of my high school friends ONLY remember me wearing skirts throughout the four years that we were together even though my mom and dad folded and allowed me to start wearing pants my sophomore year. I find this to be interesting.
Anyhow, a group was started on facebook to get women to become more feminine if you will. I am sure that this group isn’t trying to set us back 100 years, or even say that women shouldn’t wear pants. It’s to get us back in touch with our softer sides. We have already proven that we can do mostly anything that a man can do – and frankly, I’m ready to reclaim my girlishness. I’m ready to spend more time in the mirror primping. I’m ready to put on softer fabrics and to slip on some heels that allow me to gaze directly into my husbands’ eyes. I’m all for a challenge that allows us to be exactly who we are. Women.
While there are some men who can rock skirts a little TOO well, HELLO RUPAUL, I’m going to take this time to get to know my girly side again. To walk a little taller, and a little sexier. To gloss and glam it up for ME. The perk will be the how Mr. Nicholes hurries home each day JUST to see what I’m wearing. And just because I felt a little sassy today, I’m starting a little bit early.
Will you join me?
