Earlier this year, I was blessed with the opportunity to attend a retreat for women who were entrepreneurs. Not knowing full well what I was going into, I tried to go with as much of an open mind as I possibly could, and boy was I blown away!
Shelagh (pronounced like Sheila) and Lara are two of the most dynamically inspirational ladies that I have met in a long time. Seriously. They helped to guide the room of 20 something ladies into a more comfortable position for their various business ventures and helped us realize our true worth as well. We had people who had been in business for YEARS and some very wet behind the ears (me) individuals as well.
We talked time maps, planning out your weeks, writing mission statements, and even going so far as to who you really AREN’T marketing to, so that you don’t spend more time spinning your wheels not going anywhere.
Oh, did I mention the fabulous time we also had AFTER working hard? Cocktail parties, and manicures – even a swank dinner in the heart of downtown Chicago.
While the next retreat will not be in this great city of mine, it will most definitely be happening soon, in Denver, Colorado next month.
If you need people who know exactly how pressed for time you are each and every time you wake up in the morning – go.
If you need someone who can relate to you not getting any sleep – go.
If you need a weekend away from your husband and children – go.
If you need someone to give it to you straight about the way that your business is reflected through all of your social media accounts, and even down to your business cards – go.
If you want to increase your confidence in doing business with others – go.
I took a step with Houseful Of Stitches, that I probably wouldn’t have taken for another six months had I not attended the retreat in January. And the best part is, I’ve forged some fantastic relationships from the attendees.
Remember that Push Pack giveaway that I had a couple of months ago? Yeah, that was a MomBizRetreat alum.
Have you become ready to go, like, yesterday? If so, here’s a link to get you started:
Go and enjoy yourself. You’re bound to come away with something positive. But I promise not to say, I told you so…
