I Love It When We’re Cruising Together – Part V

Day 4

Upon waking up, we were still in Nassau, Bahamas, and we were getting excited to meet our married pals Gia and Gian! They are a couple that we were connected with over five years ago through an online forum, and now, they’re great friends of ours. Gia even flew in three years ago to see the ladybug get christened! Talk about friendship!

Anyway, we woke up this morning and like usual, ate breakfast, walked around the ship and then disembarked at around noon so that we could go and meet Gia for lunch! This is also the morning that I accidentally got my hair wet and it shrunk so fast that even my husband was mesmerized! Yes, we ladies experience shrinkage too. Don’t tell anyone.

Arriving at the “picture spot” in Nassau.

For some reason, this area reminded me of Canal Street in New York. LOTS of hawking items and the such. I was also in heaven since this area was tax and duty free…..there was a MAC store. *swoon*

We meet up with GIA!

Here is where I want you to stop and look at the above picture. Look at how I am dressed, and look at how Gia is dressed. :-\ She is OBVIOUSLY the one from Chicago and I belong in the Bahamas because she said that it was COLD! Ha! Cold….now I know how  Bahamians can tell tourists right off the bat.

Conch Fritters that were MUCH better than on the island of Freeport.

Red Snapper - looks shady, but it was DELICIOUS!

Da Fish Fry - GOOD FOOD!

We then went on ahead to pick her husband Gian up. S/N – How cute is it that she and her husband have ALMOST the same names?!

I think that took care of all the possible poses that we could have done….

Nope, wait…there’s one more!

I had a blast with Gia and Gian and I’m sad that our cruise didn’t allow us a little bit more time together! Darn you Norwegian for leaving at 4:30 pm! I love my Bahamian connections!

Getting back on the boat.

I’m not going to tell you how I thought that we would be that couple that got left on an island because we didn’t get back on the boat in time. Nope, I’m not going to tell you that.

Because we were tired beyond all comprehension, we grabbed something quick to eat and then went to take a nap.

Later that evening there was an Adult Quest: Scavenger Hunt and of course pictures were not allowed. They had grown folks doing all kinds of crazy things. It was a great time, and not too scandalous.

I also became a little bit sad that tonight was the last night of our cruise.  Just a little bit. We walked around the ship some more, and talked about what a great time we had, and how we just had to do this again. And we then retired to our room where we watched movies, packed up and fell into a blissful slumber.

That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.
