I guess I should first start this post off by saying that I am indeed a BzzAgent. Basically, I’m sent free stuff to review honestly, and then I either get to keep it (sometimes I have to as its makeup or food – yum) and other times I get to either give things away such as coupons off of the product, or a full-sized product itself.
This is the first time that I am doing a review on my blog, because, well because testing the toy catapulted me back to being a kid.
I’m talking about the Tonka XT Ricochet Trixters R/C.
Hasbro is the manufacturer of this small toy and they have packed a lot of energy into this hand sized remote-controlled car. The MSRP is $24.99 and I’m pretty sure you can pick it up wherever toys are sold.
I will say this: If you have an issue with cars not doing exactly what you want them to do, then this my friend is not a car that you would want in your house. It’s made to be erratic. It’s a trick car boasting the Buzzsaw Spin as it’s signature trick. When I showed this car to the suggested demographic of ages 6-10 (the cellist just missed out) the first thing they wanted to do was build something so that it could crash into it. Now, if that’s not pure adrenaline rushing talk, I don’t know what is.
It is supposed to be used inside only, but I am sure that if you had a smooth surface outside, you would be okay. A rechargeable battery does come with the product, but you must buy 5 AA batteries to use in the hand control, which happens to be infrared.
The product is sturdy and pretty much indestructible. Perfect for smaller hands as well as those who can handle tricking it out pretty well.
I will admit though, that the $25 sticker price would give me reservations for something that doesn’t really hold a charge well – at the most 30-35 minutes. But then again, I’m pretty reserved about these types of things anyway.
Do any of you remember using remote-controlled cars when you were younger? What was your favorite? Sound off here!
I’m giving one away to a lucky reader. Get a Christmas gift out of the way early! Come tell me that you’ve flipped over the trickster on my blog post about it OR here on FB, and you’ll be entered to win! Giveaway closes October 28th!
