So, for those of you who may not know the young lady pictured above, she is famously known for winning three gold medals in the 1960 Rome Olympics.

Here nicknames include La Gazella Negra (The Black Gazelle) and La Perle Noire (The Black Pearl) and she was considered the fastest woman in the world.

I think that it is almost befitting that she was a preemie who became a BIG force and widely known name.

Unfortunately she succumbed to brain and throat cancer in November of 1994. Such a young woman, yet a great woman.
