All Packed Up

Being a mom, I am often on the go. And more often than not, it’s a spontaneous trip. So this post is going to be dedicated to making sure that my car has all of the makings of a good day out in the city.

What things are a must have for you to be able to run errands with your sanity still in tact?

What snacks do you usually have on hand?

Any other items that one would need?

I’ve been thinking about this for a minute more so because we just got finished traveling from Birmingham Alabama for a wedding, and while we did pack pretty intelligently, we failed miserably on the in car snackage situation.

    1. I always have goldfish (they always make a crummy mess but they are a crowd pleaser)When the kid was a real baby i'd have the little gerber snack whcih are far less messy and good for 2 and under

    2. I always have juice boxes or capri suns. (juice boxes are neater than capri suns which always leak when you insert the straw)when the kid was a baby i'd have the spill proof sippy cups with water or juices without color (ie apple pear peach…)

    3. I always have gummy this and gummy that. worms, bears, whatever. LOL

    4. I ALWAYS have a super annoying cd that the kids love,. Yes it will be those insipid kiddie songs that make little to no sense. but they'll sing along for hours and the sound of little kids singing along is CUTE!!

    5. I've never had a car with dvd capability, but when the kid got about 4 or 5 we started in on the portable dvd player. Under 30 bucks at most targets and walmarts. LIFE SAVER.

i forgot the adults: For a whole day out i liked ot have sandwiches (without condiments) cut into squares. Also grapes, ritz crackers, and cheese cut into little cubes in zip loc bags. Makes for inconspicuous snacking. Inconspicuous meaning you can get it from bag to mouth without the kids seeing it and saying OOOO Can i have some!! LOL

Great ideas WW! I just have to get better about packing food as well as I pack clothes and accessories and I will be golden.
