The ‘Tween Years

I might have to move the Cellist out of the house for the remainder of the summer.

Somehow we have gotten to the point of him thinking that by staring deep into my soul he will win some battle. I’m sure that he really doesn’t realize how close he is coming to being evicted from the Houseful.

I don’t know what it is about going to middle school that causes children to go off their rocker crazy. ┬áThere are several issues here and I am adamant about rectifying them before the year of 2011 is over.

  1. Cello practice and posture.
  2. Chores being done without prompting
  3. General attitude with being instructed on things
  4. Behavior in class among other students (trying to look cool)
Most of this I am realizing is just the behavior of any eleven year old, but I would be lying if I said it doesn’t make me want to tear my hair out.
TELL me that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Someone, anyone?!
Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

If only I were proactive! Seriously, the good days “seem” to be far less than the wanna rip your hair out days, but they aren’t. Overall, he’s such a great kid, but the spirit of not wanting to do anything is going to have to be removed this year.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel…I don’t know what it looks like as my oldest is only 15..but there MUST be one…right……RIGHT?!?!?
