I may have done a horribly bad thing when I attended the Macy’s Back To School dance party with Radio Disney as a host. I didn’t take my children. Instead, I took Mr. Houseful, and he and I walked through the children’s department and snacked on milk and cookies. I also may have had a ladybug land on my face.
Obviously, back to school shopping and deals are in full swing, and Macy’s wasn’t short stopping with their Back To School party featuring face painters, the park district, and a ton of great kids and parents to chat with. There was even a local librarian who sat and told stories for a bit of time to all of the children that attended.
Mr. Houseful and I commented that all of the participating vendors, are really those who play an intricate part in the back to school routines of our children. Radio Disney to keep the children upbeat, librarians to make sure that children are able to have all books that they need at their fingertips, and the park district which will make sure to have after-school activities for children throughout the school year. The facepainting, balloon artists, and milk and cookies were just icing on the cake!
Being able to check out the back to school gear in the clothing section made me a bit teary eyed. Nathaniel is no longer small enough to fit into any item of clothing labeled kids size, it was nice to see the brand new uniforms on display.
There were contests on site, and plenty of opportunities for parents to browse the children’s clothing selections, and also sit back and watch their children sing and dance to the latest songs on Radio Disney! I may have also stopped to get a ladybug applied to my forehead in celebration of my own ladybug and her normal antics. It was great to see the various children openly stating that they indeed were NOT ready for back to school season, and wanted to party a little harder, eat a bit more chocolate chip cookies, and dance the afternoon away. Once again, Macy’s offered a great event!
