Celebrate Father’s Day with Your Favorite “Pop”

Celebrate Father’s Day with Your Favorite “Pop”

It’s that time again. A time to honor Father’s and their influence on family life! If you have a husband, or even a father like mine, then you know how hard it is to shop for them, so I’ve stayed with the tried and true for both of them, and that’s their love of movies. My husband and my dad are known to sit down, and enjoy a movie or two and with the release of so many great movies recently, I found the perfect solution! Movie baskets. I know that’ it’s been done before, but why not bring the entire movie experience to them, but nicer? Popcorn, popcorn bowl, candies, and a movie or two.

Sometimes, I think that shopping “simply” is one of the hardest things that I have to do. I’m prone to creating intricate gifts for those that I love, not because I want to outdo some idea that they have in mind, but I really, really, want them to have what they want. I know that my dad has loved action movies, and is a fan of the previous Jack Ryan movies, so this will be right up his alley. Mr. Houseful just likes movies, so that’s a win for me.

I snagged a new release from Walmart and got in there before they sold out. Apparently, it’s an EPIC release and I should have been there as SOON as the doors open. Either way, I’m grateful that I was able to get it at all!  I was able to pick up the Walmart exclusive pack of Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit AND The Italian Job when I checked out. What a great gift for dads this Father’s Day!

Creating this gift basket was pretty simple. I snagged popcorn and oil, along with some flavored popcorn salt. All of the favorite moviehouse (what my parents call the movies when they’re being silly) candies, and dropped them in the dad-sized popcorn bowl. This way, dad can have the largest popcorn bowl in the house, and be content while watching his movie. No getting up and refilling necessary. Speaking of which, when did popcorn become the food of choice for movie watching? I should research that.

Now, to plan what to do as my two favorite guys settle in their living rooms and watch a fast paced action film. Maybe I can steal popcorn and candy. Either way, I wish them both a Happy Father’s Day, and want them to know that I love them very much, now pass the popcorn.

This is the best! I'm totally doing something like this for my husband. He loves popcorn and candy while he watches bullets and explosions.

My husband and I love these action and thriller movies! This is a good choice for him since we haven't seen it yet. My husband prides himself on sticking to his diet but secretly, he appreciates me surprising him with candy. For fathers day he definitely deserves to be spoiled and movie night would be fun!

Popcorn, candy, and action flicks sounds like a great Father's Day bundle to me. I love this idea.

This is a great idea. I do something similar for my brother and sisters and their families at Christmas time, sort of a family movie night gift basket, but I love this idea for my dad.... wonder where I can find the Hallmark movies...
