This Holiday Season, Don’t Forget the Veterans with Katy’s Goodness!

This Holiday Season, Don’t Forget the Veterans with Katy’s Goodness!

Thanks to Katy’s Goodness for spearheading this conversation, and for thinking about our nation’s veterans. Katy's Goodness

When you were making your gift list for friends and family, did it include any veterans? I’ll wait, because you know, I’m a bit biased being a veteran of the World’s Finest Navy and all. I was pretty excited to see that a company by the name of Katy’s Goodness is honoring veterans all around by donating $3 million to veteran support organizations.

If you’re trying to figure out how they will be doing this, the answer is simple. YOU. You will help them, by sending Katy’s Goodness Cookie Care Packages to sweeten the holiday season for our nation’s veterans. Since so many can not be at home with their families during this holiday season, it would be nice for them to get a little bit of the holidays mailed to them. The goodness doesn’t stop there though, as Katy’s will continue this initiative through Veterans Day 2015.

Each cookie care package comes to a total of $30 with shipping included. It has six packages of Katy’s Goodness My Oh Mega Cookies, a thank you card, and printed information on the organizations that support America’s Military veteran community with things like jobs, education, medical and mental health services. Each care package is shipped to a military veteran anonymously and arrives without announcement so it is TRULY a surprise.

This would be a perfect way to give back this holiday season, and to do it on a reasonable budget. It also creates a great lesson for children on giving without having to be seen or acknowledged for it (which I think too many people in our society thrive on.) I love that it brings a bit of sweetness into the lives of individuals who have seen some not so sweet moments. The flavors include Chocolate Hazelnut, Chocolate Chunk, and Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Country Fruit and Cashew Butter. They are made with 100% whole grain and are high in protein, rich in fiber and a great source of Omega-3. They retail for about $4.50 per bag and can be purchased at retailers including Shop & Save Market, Cub Foods, Food Country USA, and Woodman’s Foods. If none of these are in your area, don’t fret! You can order online and have them shipped right to your front door.

So, what are you waiting for? Go and spread some cheer.

This is an awesome initiative! My husband still fondly recalls the generous care packages he received on his deployments from strangers who wanted to give back and show their support for our military service members. It does make a difference! Thanks for sharing this!

The cookies look delicious. But better than that, I like what the company is doing for the veterans. Veterans sacrifice so much for the rest of us, it is nice to do something for them in return.

When my children were younger one of the ways I thought them to give without being seen is I would give them quarters to stick in the gumball and candy machine at the store for other kids to use. We'd leave little notes just telling people that we were thinking about them today and that we left this quarter for them to enjoy a small gift from the machine. I'm a veteran by the way if anyone want to send me some of these cookies. ☺️

Love buying items that give back! Esp. when they also give me a treat. But on a serious note, this is much appreciated being that my dad is a veteran:)
