You can purchase great jars to collect!

Can you guess what’s coming up? That’s right, it’s almost time for the Box Tops for Education Spring Submission and coordinators from near and far are busy creating contests, and informing groups of children and parents that their efforts to collect those coupons off of boxes are not falling on deaf ears. Principals are probably moving into full-fledged support mode after receiving their checks from the winter submissions. It’s a great day to be a coordinator.

How are you getting your information out? Do you use robocalls at home? Monthly newsletters? Bulletin boards or word of mouth? Well, here are a couple of ways to get the information about Box Tops For Education out to the parents, staff, and students.

While the Box Tops for Education program has gone fully digital, there are still some coupon clipping to be done. I believe that some have gone into the year 2023, and are being collected properly. If you aren’t in the know about the scan program, here is a video to get you up to speed. Afterward are some great collection tips for you until there are no more coupons to clip!

1. You can create a Box Tops For Education Newsletter, letting parents and students know of important collection dates (remember submission deadlines are November 1st, and March 1st of each year) and contest dates all in one spot. You can choose to use the example that I’ve found for you, or get creative and make your own! PTO Today is also an excellent resource for newsletter templates.

2. Bulletin Boards are a great way to keep the students and staff encouraged. ESPECIALLY if someone from the administration has to do something silly if your school or a particular class makes a goal for the year!  I love this image because it has a full-sized product and arrows where to find the Box Tops For Education.

3. Classroom collection bags/boxes/envelopes. These can be used the entire year, and all you have to do is make enough for every classroom in the school and collect on specified days. It creates routine for the teachers and students, AND you don’t have to interrupt instruction time when you go and collect.

Here’s a great collection tub from Betty Crocker that helps promote household responsibility with the collection of Box Tops For Education.  If the kids see that there is a dedicated banking system, they are more prone to remind you to clip (if they are too young to do so) or clip themselves and drop them right in. We have one of these in our Houseful, and I love it!

This jar comes with a tutorial as well! From Fingerprints on the Fridge who shares a super simple, and super sleek way to collect those box tops at home or in your classroom. I love this because it is indeed fool-proof.

Now, are you informing parents what they should be looking for when they collect?

Telling them that a full expiration date MUST be visible? Especially if it expires in the current year?

Are you making sure that when you bundle, you’re not mixing bonus box tops with regular box tops?

Did you remember to print out that submission sheet?

Did you know that you do NOT have to wait until March 1st to submit. You can do it today! Go for it, and watch those earnings grow! Besides, you don’t want to chance any of your coupons expiring before you get them counted.

I think BTFE is an excellent and easy way for people to help support schools. I really like that bulletin board promoting BTFE and what it's all about.
