30 Days of Thanks: My Right To Vote

You really didn’t think that this day would get away from you and you wouldn’t hear about it, right?

I’m proud to be able to hold this:

While being a being a black woman.

I hope that you exercised your right to vote, no matter who it was for.

And can we change it up this term, and respect WHOMEVER is in office? Pretty please?

Wait, what? Respect whoever is voted in? What a novel concept. It really is pretty damn cool to have the right to vote. So glad you you did!

I know, if only it were so easy. My twitter feed has been all in crazy land from people RT the silly stuff that truly hateful people are tweeting. It makes my heart sad.

Was it me or did you have a great sense of pride after voting?? My husband and I voted early and even then the lines were long here in Chicago. I truly felt great and blessed to be able to fulfill my civic duty.

I always get a little feeling of thankfulness from being able to vote. I will say that this year made me very nervous. In a city where we kind of have a run of the mill lean with certain candidates, I was actually worried for a bit. The tension leading up to this election was thick and I hated every minute of it.
